Why Are MP3s The Key To Personal Development?

One thing that helped me practice personal development was my Ipod. I recommend them to anyone who wishes to seriously pursue personal development. Why an Ipod? Well, it's portable, can hold thousands of songs that can be organized by artist, genre, or play lists.

Sure, other mp3 players play mp3s but I find the Ipods easy to manage and use. Although sometimes I wish I could create play lists on the go. However, the benefits far out weight the drawbacks. What I do is setup a play list for every type of development I want to accomplish. For example, I will setup a play list for weight loss, procrastination, being present or conscious, and other personal traits I want to improve.

Anytime I have a chance to listen to these mp3s I take it. My consistent time is right before bed. I try to listen to a quieter more relaxing type, such as hypnosis. The hypnosis relaxes me and I fall asleep easily. For my night time play lists, I set up usually 2-3 mp3s. I am sure to be asleep by the end, and the Ipod turns itself off after it's done, saving the batteries.

When purchasing my Ipod, I decided to get the video one. I think it's worth the difference in price. I've downloaded Oprah's web casts that she recorded with Eckhart Tolle on his book "A New Earth." I usually watch them when I am in a waiting room of some sort, or as a passenger in a vehicle on a long trip.

Actually it also came in handy when I had my last baby. I put some movies on it for my husband, and while I was patiently waiting to have the baby, my husband could watch movies. Also, after the little girl came into this world, it was nice to keep us occupied while waiting to be discharged.

Another time it came in handy was when I had car trouble and had to wait to be rescued. That turned into another good time to watch Oprah and Eckhart on the web classes.

Going back and forth to work was another great time to listen to mp3s and made the drive much faster than it was. Before my personal development era, my mind was consumed with work. What happened that day, what I would be doing tomorrow, all the drama that occurred, etc? Even when I went to sleep at night, all I could think about was work. And that's the last thing I wanted to think about.

It would take me take me hours to get to sleep. My mind would be racing about work, I would even dream about work. When I woke up it was work, work, work I hated it. There were too many politics and not enough time.

Now, it takes me less than 10 minutes to fall asleep. From the time I lay my head down, to deep sleep. I am so happy. I get a better night sleep and wake up happier in the morning. I have changed my life for the better.
